Care tips
Long hair requires more care in the lengths and ends. Use the silicone-, sulphate- and paraben-free products we recommend. The products in our shop have been specially selected for your hair extensions. As the inserted hair has no connection with the scalp, it requires external moisture. After inserting the extensions, the hair should rest for 24 hours and not be washed. Avoid styling products or care products containing alcohol.
Do not wash your hair for the first 24 hours after application and never wash your hair upside down.
Wash your hair with the care products we recommend.
Brush the strands well before washing. Distribute the required amount of shampoo in your hands and wash your roots. It is sufficient to shampoo only the roots, as the lengths and ends are sufficiently cleansed when the shampoo is washed out. When washing the roots, rubbing or rubbing should be avoided as this could mat the extensions. Hair conditioners and hair masks should only be applied to the lengths and ends of the hair so as not to loosen the keratin bonds. Hair conditioners and hair masks should be left in the hair for at least 10 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly from top to bottom with lukewarm or cold water. After washing, only "knead" the hair dry with a towel, do not rub.
We recommend washing the extensions no more than 1-2 times a week. However, a partial wash can be carried out. This involves parting the upper natural hair and tying the extensions together at the back. The upper natural hair can then be washed upside down.
After washing, sort the attachment points with your fingers and blow-dry the hair. Always blow-dry the hair in the direction of growth.
Important: Do not go to bed with wet hair!
Never use an ordinary brush or comb for your hair extensions. Only use the special brush recommended by us. Sort your hair daily with your fingers from the roots. Brush your hair carefully every day and always hold the hair at the roots with one hand. Permanent wavy hair should be moisturised after brushing and scrunched up with your fingers. Curly hairstyles should be combed with a wide-toothed comb. Only brush the hair when it is dry and blow-dry it lukewarm. Never brush wet extensions.
Braid your hair into a loose plait overnight to avoid tangles. Avoid sleeping with your hair loose as this can lead to hair breakage.
Use silicone-, sulphate- and paraben-free heat protection products. Straightening the extensions with a good straightening iron softens the hair. Avoid heating the connection points as these can melt. Do not use more than 160 degrees when blow-drying or straightening. Always brush in sections and part the hair. Only comb the hair when it is dry and hold it at the roots with one hand.
The human hair strands should not be bleached or aggressively coloured. Use a maximum of 6 % oxidising agents. Additional chemical stress can have a negative effect on hair quality. Avoid perming and bleaching the hair as this weakens the bonds. Please note that we are not responsible for the colour results. In the best case, the extensions should not be coloured at all. As the hair is already cut and no longer receives any nutrients other than those administered with care products, colouring additionally dries out the extensions. It is particularly dangerous when bleaching, as bleaches can never be washed 100 % out of the joints and simply continue to work until the hair is broken off. With most colours, the effect stops after 40 minutes. Although this is also harmful, it is nowhere near as dangerous as bleaching.
Avoid contact with chlorine or salt water, as this could discolour the extensions.
If this is not possible, clean and care for your hair particularly well afterwards. Protect your hair strands after swimming with the care products we recommend. Tie your hair up or braid it into a plait. After swimming: Undo the plait, carefully sort through your hair with your fingers and rinse thoroughly with clear water to remove chlorine and salt.
If you regularly go to the solarium, you should cover your extensions as this can also lead to discolouration.
When using sun cream, self-tanning lotion and spray tan, you should tie up your extensions as this could discolour them. Perfume should also not be applied to the extensions, as this could also lead to a change in hair colour.
Every person loses around 100 hairs a day due to natural hair loss, which are normally combed out during daily brushing. However, the modulation points of your hair extensions hold on to some of these shed hairs. These should be removed every 8 weeks or so with a cleaning cut to prevent tangles.
To get the best out of your curly or wavy extensions and keep them in top shape for a long time, we recommend special care that is tailored to the particular needs of curls. Find out how to care for your extensions properly here:
1. Gentle cleaning
Use a mild, sulphate-free shampoo to retain the hair's moisture and protect the natural waves or curls.
Wash the extensions in lukewarm water and avoid hot water as this can dry out the hair.
Work the shampoo in gently without rubbing the hair vigorously. Rinse thoroughly.
2. Moisturiser and conditioner
Moisturising is particularly important for curly and wavy hair! Therefore, use a rich conditioner after every hair wash.
Work the conditioner in carefully from the tips to the roots. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing it out.
A leave-in conditioner or moisturising curl cream can also help to keep the hair supple and reduce frizz.
3. Gentle detangling
Carefully detangle the extensions while they are still damp. It is best to use a coarse-toothed comb or your fingers to do this.
Always start at the ends of the hair and work your way up slowly so as not to damage the hair.
Avoid brushes with dense bristles as they can break up the curl structure and lead to hair breakage.
4. Drying and styling
It is best to allow the extensions to air dry to maintain the natural curl or wave. You still need to blow-dry the connection points.
If you use a hairdryer, use a diffuser attachment and use low heat.
Avoid heat styling appliances as much as possible. If you do use straighteners or curling irons, then only with a heat protection spray.
5. Regular moisturising treatment
Treat your extensions to a deep moisturising treatment or mask every fortnight to keep your hair supple and healthy.
Leave the mask on for at least 20-30 minutes to achieve the best results.
6. Additional tips
Try not to wash the extensions too often - about every 10-15 days is usually enough. This protects the curl structure and extends the lifespan.
Use products that are specially formulated for curl care to optimally support the hair structure and minimise frizz.
These care tips will keep your curly and wavy extensions healthy, shiny and vibrant for a long time - for a natural, dreamy look!
